Doris Marie Davis

Doris Marie McPherson Davis, 85, of Asheboro, died Friday, June 7, 2019, at Randolph Health in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Richland Baptist Church, Asheboro. Rev. Tommy Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery. Born in Randolph Co., on October 16, 1933, Doris was the daughter of the late Rev. Benjamin Walter McPherson and Eunice Alene Barnes McPherson. She worked at Tie Rite and was retired from Klaussner Furniture. Mrs. Davis loved life, embracing the company of others, children, and enjoyed the beach and mountains. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Victor Staley. Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn Marie Davis of Asheboro, Shirley Davis Suits and husband Eddie of Staley, Debbie Davis Braddock of Asheboro; sons, Ronald Ervin Davis and wife Melynda of Asheboro, Steven Ray Davis and wife Brenda of Asheboro; sister, Mildred Louise Staley of Siler City; brother, Larry Walter McPherson and wife Judy of Asheboro; 12 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and husband, Ervin Davis of Ramseur. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richland Baptist Church, 2323 Old Humble Mill Road, Asheboro, NC, 27205.
