Doris W. Arrington

Doris Lee Whitby Arrington, 80, of Asheboro, died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Sypolle officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Born August 6, 1935 in Halifax County, NC, Mrs. Arrington was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ruby Whitby. She was retired from the Greensboro Police Department. Mrs. Arrington enjoyed gardening, flowers and her dog, Maggie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Flossie Elks and Jeannine Stainback. Mrs. Arrington is survived by her husband, Wiley Tine Arrington of the home; sons, Vance Trogdon, Jr. of Kernersville, John Trogdon and wife, Cindy, of Asheboro, Alan Trogdon and wife, Emilie, of Winston-Salem, Tim Arrington of Asheboro; daughters, Karen Hampton and husband, David, of Stokesdale, Angela Arrington of Oak Ridge; sister, Patsy Rose and husband, Charles, of Emporia, VA; grandchildren, Chad Trogdon, Lane Trogdon, Dr. Carrie Leigh Trogdon, Katie Trogdon, Christopher Trogdon, Jacoby Trogdon, Keri White and husband, Jack; and great-grandchildren, Peyton and Jase White. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
