Dora Esther Garren

Dora Esther Garren, 87, of Asheboro, entered into Heaven on Thursday, July 11, 2019, after passing away at home, surrounded by people that loved her. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 15, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Steve McSwain officiating. Burial will follow at the Beane Family Cemetery in Star. Born on February 13, 1932, Dora was the daughter of the late Inzer Beane and Ella Lucus Beane. She had attended Randolph Community College and loved to play guitar, sing, and participate in walks for charities. Dora was always friendly to everyone she met and would light up a room with her smile. She always put others first. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Roy Beane, Edward Beane, Lori Lowry, Eula Mae Hathaway, Beulah Hyatt, and Thelma Carrick. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Rev. Robert Elwood Garren; daughters, Vickie Beane Barrett of Maryville, TN, Rosa Dobbins and husband David of Sophia; son, Jack Elwood Garren and wife Lynne of Asheboro; sisters, Treva B. Harhness of Mt. Airy, Effie Auman of Star; brother, Sherman Beane; grandchildren, Warren Barrett of Georgia, Timothy Barrett of Maryville, TN, Luke Dobbins of Sophia; and great grandchild, Blaze Barrett of Maryville, TN. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, July 14, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home, and other times at the home. The family would like to thank the professional work and care from nurses, Amanda and Lanette, at Hospice of Randolph, and that memorials be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
