Mr. Donyel Ralph "Don" Barnes, 74, of 2459 Garren Town Road, Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at his home. Memorial services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James R. Strong officiating. Mr. Barnes was born in Gibson Station, VA, on February 21, 1936, the son of the late Bradley Lonzo and Bertha Collins Barnes. He was Baptist and had retired from the US Air Force. He had also worked for Carolina Seating, Wagner Woodcraft and Rich's Furniture. He loved fishing and the outdoors. Survivors include wife of 54 years, Jo Ann Barnes, of the home; daughters, Deborah Childress and husband, Connie, of Thomasville, NC, Dawn Hash and husband, Paul, of Thomasville, NC, Jennifer Clem and husband, Clint, of Archdale, NC; sons, Mark Barnes and wife, Patty, of Taylorsville, NC, Jeffrey Barnes and wife, Regina, of Sophia, NC, Gregory Barnes and wife, NaVella, of Siler City, NC; brother, Neil Barnes, of Harlan, KY; grandchildren, Daryl Childress, Patricia Siler, Mark Allen Barnes, Debbie Harris, Linda Seger, Sarah Taylor, Polly Reimakoski, Cletus Hash, Paul Hash II, Josh Barnes, Tyler Barnes, Tana Barnes, Kiersten Barnes, Isabella Clem; great grandchildren, Audrey Childress, Charles Daniel Seger, Rebecca Seger, Mark Allen Hartman, Chase Reimakoski, Bryten Reimakoski, Savannah Taylor, Cletus Hash II, Daniel Hash, Riley Hash. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and other times at the home.
