Donna Hilliard

Donna Kay Jenkins Hilliard, 85, of Asheboro, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

She was born on May 26, 1941, in Forsyth County, the daughter of Hiram L. and Ethel Williams Jenkins. She moved to Randolph County with her parents at an early age.

Donna is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Ray G Hilliard; son Todd A Hilliard and wife Kristi of Concord; three beautiful grandchildren Jaelin Hilliard, Kyah Hilliard and Ash Hilliard of Concord; and nephew Brad Jenkins of Midlothian, Virginia.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Jenkins.

Donna was a graduate of Farmer High School and attended both Asheboro Business College and High Point University. She enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach, loved animals and was active in her church when her health permitted.

She was very artistic and had many hobbies. While living in Jacksonville, Florida, she enjoyed working for a regional floral distributor designing and making artificial flowers and trees. She possessed a talent for decorating that was admired and appreciated by many. Her many artistic talents led to painting, gourd carving, and carved eggshell sculptures leaving many items for family and friends to enjoy. Donna was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and a very special friend to so many.

Funeral services will be conducted at New Union United Methodist Church, 1293 Union Church Road, Asheboro, NC, where she was a member. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm until 2:15 pm, with services beginning at 2:30 pm under the direction of Pastor Alanda B. Harris. Interment will follow in the cemetery located beside the church.
