Donald Lee Lassiter, 84, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, October 28, 2020, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, November 1, 2020, at Hamer Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Mt. Gilead. Military Honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born on December 28, 1935 in Ft. Pierce, FL, Donald was the son of the late T.J. and Valma Lassiter. He retired from Southern Bell in Greensboro and was a general contractor. He served in the US Navy. He was a skilled luthier of fine instruments. He was an avid square dancer, jeweler and gem collector. He loved bluegrass music, NASCAR, baseball and football. Surviving are his wife, Louise Norman Lassiter of the home; daughter, Michelle Barber and husband David of Reidsville; sons, Billy Lassiter and wife Rebecca; Lee Lassiter and wife, Maria, all of Ft. Pierce; stepdaughter, Alesia Greene of Asheboro; stepson, Ricky McNeill and wife Debbie of Asheboro; sister Anne Carlson and husband Roy of Palm Beach, FL; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Randolph County Honor Guard, PO Box 1672, Asheboro, NC 27204.
