Donald Lee Hays

Rev. Donald "Don" Lee Hays, 76, of Randleman, died Saturday, January 16, 2016 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 25, 2016, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Liberty with Pastor Stephen Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born in Little Rock, AR on September 13, 1939, he was the son of the late George Hays and Brooksie Seamans Hays. He served in the US Marine Corps, attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, AR and graduated from Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. Rev. Hays pastored at Red Branch Baptist Church in Carthage and Hickory Mountain Baptist Church in Siler City. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Rev. Hays was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hays, sister, Glenda Spann and brother, George A. Hays. Surviving are his daughters, Darla Hays, of Thomasville, Paige H. Allen and husband, Andrew, of Sanford, sister, Pattie Lindow, of Little Rock, AR, grandchildren, Ryan Simpson, Kie Dowdy, Jordan Simpson, Connor Dowdy, Bryson Allen, great-grandchildren, Riley Simpson and Aubrey Simpson. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home in Asheboro. Memorials may be made to the Randolph County Honor Guard, P.O.
