Donald Grant Cox

Mr. Donald "Donnie"� Grant Cox, 64, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at The Randolph Hospice House. A memorial service is scheduled for 5:00 pm Monday, May 14, 2012, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Armfield, Jr. officiating. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Cox was born October 14, 1947. He was the son of the late Charles Walton Cox and Virginia Mae King Cox. He was employed with Carolina Wire and Casting. Mr. Cox enjoyed skeet shooting, woodworking and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also played in an "oldies" band. Mr. Cox is survived by his wife, Cathy Hill Cox; of the home; daughter, Sharon White and husband, Bill, of Asheboro; son, Dean Cox and Robin Staley, of Asheboro; sister, Ann Pope and husband, Walter, of Asheboro; brother, Charles Lanson Cox and wife, Rebecca, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Crystal White, Matthew White; and cat companion, Patches. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Monday, May 14, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of his mother-in-law, Grace Hill, 210 W. Balfour Avenue, Asheboro.
