Donald Calvin Causey, 89, of Randleman, NC, died Sunday, February 22, 2015 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Caraway Baptist Church, Sophia, NC, with Pastor Fredie Meadows and Pastor Jim Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro, NC, with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Guilford County, NC, Mr. Causey was born July 24, 1925, the son of the late Shouble Edgar and Pearl Marley Causey. He enjoyed yard work, going to the beach, building furniture and doing taxes. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Mr. Causey had served in the US Army during World War II. In addition to his parents, Mr. Causey was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Causey. Mr. Causey is survived by his daughter, Donnette Honeycutt and husband, Harvey, of Sophia, NC; sons, Gene Causey and wife, Diane, Roger "Topper" Causey and wife, Angela, all of Randleman, NC; brother, Tommy Causey and wife, Linda, of Thomasville, NC; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, NC, and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Caraway Baptist Church, P.O. Box 399, Sophia, NC 27350, or to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
