E. Barbara "Dolly" Spencer, of Asheboro, died Friday, November 21, 2014, at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. A native of Randolph County, NC, Ms. Spencer was born on December 31. She was the youngest of eight children born to the late Stanley Lee Spencer and Ethel Bunting Spencer. She was a graduate of Randleman High School and a cradle member of Marlboro Friends Meeting. She was a homemaker and also had worked for A. J. Schnierson & Sons in Randleman, Garner Florist in Asheboro, and JC Penney in Greensboro. Ms. Spencer loved to travel and especially loved the time she spent with her beloved Daddy fishing at Holden Beach. She was an accomplished seamstress, floral arranger, who enjoyed doing all crafts. She could make just about anything. In addition to her parents, Ms. Spencer was preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald E. "Doc" Spencer, Harry Lee Spencer; sisters, Iris Spencer Farlow, Orelia "Reggie" McCaddin, Bonyiar McCort; and a great granddaughter. Surviving are her son, Gregory Redding and wife, Nancy of Randleman; daughters, Barbara Beane and husband, Charles, of Asheboro, Robin S. Redding, of Flint Hll; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Bruce B. Spencer and wife, JoAnn, of Sophia, Gordon Spencer and wife, Jean, of Randleman; sister-in-law, Jutta Spencer; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Randolph Co.
