Dock Franklin "Pete" Shoe, Jr., 84, of Sophia, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at The Shannon Gray Rehabilitation & Recovery Center in Jamestown. Memorial services will be conducted 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Sophia Baptist Church, where he was a member. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Barnes. A native of Guilford Co., NC, Mr. Shoe was born December 25, 1932, the son of the late Dock and Rosa Shoe. He worked for Thomas Built Buses for 28 years and was the owner of Shoe's Body Shop and Shoe's Poultry Farm. Pete was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Geneva Loflin, Hazel Trexler and Helen Carroll. Pete is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Patterson Shoe, of the home; sons, David Shoe, Delton Shoe and wife, Cindy, Derrick Shoe and wife, Sherri, all of Sophia; grandchildren, Jessica Shoe, Nikki Shoe, Jacqie Shoe, Brandon Hall, Mason Shoe, and great-grandchild, Lincoln Hall. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Sophia Baptist Church and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Baptist Children's Homes of NC, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361-0338.
