Diane Mercado

Diane McKenzie Mercado, 56, of Biscoe, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Parsons officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Mrs. Mercado was born July 25, 1961 in Moore County. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family, especially "Sissy" and her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles McKenzie and her mother, Shelby Callicutt. Survivors include her husband, Jose Mercado; daughters, Lupita Mercado of Asheboro, Tricia Mercado of Troy; sons, Arthur Deaton (Bobbi) and Robert Parsons, all of Asheboro; stepfather, James L. Callicutt of Asheboro; sisters, Pamela Lynthacum of West End, Patricia McCormick (Barry) of Ellerbe, Crystal McCurry (Jimmy) of Lawndale; brothers, Wesley McKenzie (Sherry) of Rockingham, Mike McKenzie (Diane) of Ellerbe, Lee McKenzie (Beth) of Troy; three grandchildren; and step-siblings, Cindy Pearson (Cliff) of Conway, Dawn Callicutt of Louisiana, Inga Cheshire (Wayne) of Wilmington, Vickey Jennings (Jackie) of Franklinville, Wayne Callicutt and Roger Callicutt (Betty), all of Asheboro.
