Dewayne Markham York

Dewayne Markham York, 58, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Derrick Britt officiating. The service will be livestreamed at Ridge Funeral Home's official Facebook page. Dewayne was born on December 6, 1962, in Randolph Co., to the late Garland York and Elizabeth Ann Duke York. He loved going to flea markets and garage sales, being outside, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandbabies, Mason Owens, Dani Owens, and Theodore Owens. He looked forward to going home to see his Mama and Daddy. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Brandon Davis. He is survived by his wife, Georgie Annette York; daughters, Amanda Cornstubble, Jessica Cornstubble; sons, Bobby "B.J." Owens Jr. and wife Shawnee; Daniel Owens and wife Maria, Dustin Welsh and wife Shelby; sisters, Donna Allred and husband Mark, Bobbie Cranford and husband Jackie, Cynthia York, Crystal York; brothers, Terry York, Garland "Bud" York, Jr., Craig York and wife Angie; several nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren. Mr. York will lie in repose from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home.
