Dessie A. Needham

Mrs. Dessie Kiser Needham, 88, of Cross Road Retirement Community, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 28 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation Center, Asheboro, NC. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Wednesday, August 31, 2011, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce McLanahan, Rev. David Schwartz and Rev. Howard Moffitt officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Needham was born September 7, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Robie and Elizabeth "Lizzie"� Hayes Kiser. For many years, she operated her own beauty shop and retired as a hosiery mill worker. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Needham was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; her daughter, Henrietta; her brothers, W. C., Harold, and Ronnie; and her sisters, Eunice, Estelle, and Joyce. Mrs. Needham is survived by her son, Doyle K. Needham and his wife, Janice, of Germantown, TN; brothers, Dewey and his wife Virginia, and Coy Kiser of Asheboro; sister, Grace Moore of Robbins, NC; and granddaughter, Cari Fetters, and her children, Cooper and Lainey of Collierville, TN. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30 and other times at the home of Coy Kiser, 3332 Staleys Farm Road, Asheboro, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
