Derrick Harris

Derrick Terrell Harris, 35, of Greensboro, died Monday, May 28, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2018, at Covenant Christian Church with Rev. Lois Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Derrick was born December 6, 1982 in Rockingham, NC. He graduated from Asheboro High School in 2001 and attended NC A&T State University. Derrick was employed with G&S Security in Greensboro and was a member of Covenant Christian Church. He played in a semi-pro football league in Greensboro. Derrick enjoyed music and spending time with his daughter. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Harris. Survivors include his daughter, Imani Monet Harris of High Point; father, Waddell Harris of Asheboro; sisters, Shelia Jennings of Rockingham and Candace Pierce of South Carolina; grandmother, Margie Harris of Asheboro; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Monday at Covenant Christian Church, prior to the service and other times at the home of his father, 4505 US Hwy 220 Bus. South, Asheboro.
