Denise Mckenzie

Denise Staley McKenzie, 60, of Seagrove, died Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at her home. A funeral service will be conducted 12:00 p.m., Monday, January 18, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Piney Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery. Denise was born on September 28, 1960 in Randolph Co. She was known as the "life of the party" that never met a stranger. Denise enjoyed spending time with her brothers and hanging out with her friends. She will always be "Shake Staley's Baby Girl". She was preceded in death by her father, Carlee Staley. Surviving are her finance, Elvone McBride, Sr. of the home; daughter, Chantell Little of Seagrove; son, Manzell McKenzie of Seagrove; bonus children, John Harris of Salisbury, Natasha Pemberton of Biscoe, Elvone McBride, Jr., of Troy; mother, Mattie Brown Staley; sisters, Barbara Glenn of Greensboro, Elizabeth Foxx and husband Rodney of Liberty, Cathy McLaughlin of Thomasville; brothers, Wess Staley and wife Joanne of Seagrove, Jerome Staley of Seagrove, Otis Staley and wife Felicia of Seagrove; grandchildren, Keontai McKenzie of Asheboro, Alexis DeHart and husband Daniel of Asheboro, Mya McKenzie of Seagrove, CJ Robinson of Biscoe, Shadae McBride of Biscoe, OJ Pemberton of Biscoe; great grandchildren, Keidan McKenzie, Kortlen Robinson; special friend, Clara Chavis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Ms. McKenzie will lie in state from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17. 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Piney Ridge United Methodist Church, 4926 Piney Ridge Church Rd.
