Dempsey E. Swaney

Mr. Dempsey Edward Swaney, 80, of Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Randolph Hospital. A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, September 20, 2013, at Randolph Memorial Park with Dr. Jody Harrison officiating. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Swaney was born September 25, 1932. He was the son of the late Claude Edward Swaney and Bessie Jane McDowell Swaney. He was retired from Stuart Furniture. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Hughes Swaney, and brother, Claude Swaney. Mr. Swaney is survived by daughter, Doris Tucker and husband, Clifton, of Asheboro; son, Ronald Swaney and wife, Brandy, of Seagrove; sisters, Trella Beane and husband, Ivey, of Asheboro, Inez Burcham, of Asheboro; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm Friday, September 20, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help pay for funeral expenses.
