DeEtta Farlow Hill, 78, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Randolph Health and Rehabilitation Center in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. Born November 12, 1939 in Randolph County, Mrs. Hill was the daughter of the late William Penn and Elizabeth Hogan Farlow. She was employed with several local hosiery mills, but retired from Klaussner Furniture. Mrs. Hill enjoyed cooking and playing her guitar. According to her friends and family, she was the "best" cook. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. "Junior" Hill; sisters, DeEtte Dickerson, Blanche Satterfield, Pearlie Miller, Nellie Hunt; and brother, Franklin Farlow. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Mitchell and husband, Clarence Mitchell of the home; sisters, Essie Brady of Biscoe and Alberta Hurley of Wilmington; grandchildren, Oscar Spivey, Jr., Keasha Spivey, Brooklynn Luther, Kevin Mitchell, all of Asheboro; and great-grandchildren, Austin Spivey, Jaydah Spivey, Jesselin Hughes and Gracelynn Ellis. She is also survived by several special nieces and nephews and her faithful companions, Monkey and Rosie. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Saturday at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service and other times at the home.
