Debra Dean Lucas Pittman of 1238 Hunt Road, Lexington, rose to Heaven on Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Mrs. Pittman was born April 4, 1958, in Randolph County, NC. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Lucas. Surviving are husband Greg Pittman; daughters, Ashley, of the home, Kelly and her fiancée, Chris Ramey; mother, Virgie Brown Lucas of Asheboro; sister, Wanda Pegg and husband Wayne of Asheboro. Debra often said her greatest accomplishments were her daughters. She lived selflessly for her family, loved reading, quiet walks, and being on the water. She graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 1980, and continued there to obtain her law degree in 1992. She was a licensed attorney in North and South Carolina, and loved the counseling aspect of her job. Her unwavering, ever-strengthening faith in God made her a strong yet patient fighter, submissive wife, and gentle mother who always seemed to make the wisest choices through God's guidance. After battling breast cancer three times, she is finally relieved of this world and beginning her new perfect and eternal life in Heaven. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010. A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ken E. Klein officiating. Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Randolph County, P.O. Box 669, Asheboro, NC 27204-0669; or to Forsyth Co. Hospice, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
