Franklin David Walker, Jr., 75, of Asheboro, died Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro, with Rev. Kenneth Davis officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born in Randolph County, NC on March 19, 1946, David was the son of the late Franklin David Walker, Sr. and Virginia Rosalie Richardson. David served in the US Army during Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing and he loved his family, Amvets family, friends, cats and dogs. He was a friendly person, had an incredible sense of humor, never got mad or met a stranger. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sisters, Sue Brown, Fannie Lowe; brothers, Paul Morgan, Michael Richardson; and grandson, Ethan Smith. Surviving are his wife, Andrea Walker of the home; daughter, Dreama Walker Smith (Alan) of Asheboro; sisters, Mary Smith of Burlington, Gracie Hill of Ramseur, Joann Pugh of Burlington, Debra Richardson of Seagrove, two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 4, 2021, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Amvets Post 905, 142 W. Academy Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
