Mr. David Lee Walker, 59, of Franklinville, NC, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, July 28, 2011, at his residence. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Whites Memorial Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Jeff Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Randolph County, NC, David was born May 2, 1952. He was the son of Essie Harvell Walker and the late James William Walker, Sr. David served in the Army National Guard. He loved and was dedicated to his family. He was an avid worker and enjoyed his career as a diesel mechanic. In his free time he enjoyed flying RC model airplanes. He loved life, enjoyed making people laugh, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Mr. Walker, in addition to his mother, is survived by his wife, Nancy Hussey Walker, of the home; daughters, Robin Garner and husband, Keith, of Robbins, NC, Wendy Chriscoe, of Robbins, NC; son, Travis Chriscoe and wife, Suzanna, of Franklinville, NC; sisters, Jean Kennedy and husband, David, of Franklinville, NC, Faye Joyce and husband, Gene, of Coleridge, NC, Carolyn Lineberry and husband, Bobby, of Franklinville, NC; brother, Bill Walker and wife, Barbara, of Franklinville, NC, grandsons, Matt Garner and wife, Jessica, of Sanford, NC, and Josh Garner, of Robbins, NC. David is also survived by several nieces and nephew whom he loved. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Whites Memorial Baptist Church, and other times at the home.
