David Sheffield

Mr. David Lee Sheffield, 63, of Asheboro, NC, passed from this world Thursday, March 7, 2013, at The Randolph Hospice House after a valiant battle with cancer. A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 am Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Gretchen Spars McKee officiating. Mr. Sheffield was born in Montgomery County on June 26, 1949. He was the son of Sarah Louise Saunders Sheffield, of Asheboro, NC and the late Lee Wesley Sheffield. He was raised in Randolph County and attended Asheboro High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as an electrician at Guilford Mills for thirty years and as an independent contractor for twenty four years. He was a consummate perfectionist in all he did. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Wade Sheffield. In addition to his beloved mother, Mr. Sheffield is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sheila Daniels Sheffield; daughter, Dulcinea Sweeney and husband, Donald, of Asheboro, NC; grandsons, Aeron Sheffield and Barrett Sweeney; brothers, Lee Harris Sheffield and wife, Elaine, of Reidsville, NC, Bill Sheffield, of Asheboro, NC, Chris Sheffield, of Corpus Christi, TX; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at Ridge Funeral Home.
