David R. Newton

David Randolph Newton, 73, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2015, at Randolph Memorial Park. A native of Chatham County, Mr. Newton was born November 25, 1942 to the late Benjamin and Lou Newton. He was retired from the City of Asheboro. Mr. Newton enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching sports. He had participated in the Senior Olympics and also enjoyed playing bingo with the Seniors at McDonald's. Mr. Newton is survived by his wife, Peggy Routh Newton of the home; sister, Beulah R. Porter of Wake Forest; and brother, Jack Newton, Jr. of Valdosta, GA. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., Friday, December 18, 2015 at Ridge Funeral Home, prior to the service.
