David T. Anderson

Mr. David Thomas Anderson, 55, of Sophia, NC, died Friday, February 24, 2012, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dewey Cheek and Rev. Josh Cagle officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Anderson was born September 17, 1956. He was the son of Mary Etta Buckles Anderson Lyons, of Asheboro, NC, and the late Thomas Archie Anderson. He was a volunteer fireman for 10 years with the Ulah Volunteer Fire Department, was an honorary member of the Sophia Support Club, loved working on cars, and loved hunting and fishing. He loved NASCAR and was a "Ford man."� David loved spending time with his son, grandson, and his dog, Slinky. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Kathy Diane Yow. Mr. Anderson, in addition to his mother, is survived by son, Toby Anderson, of Sophia, NC, and his grandson, Thomas James Anderson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home.
