Davey Wayne Copple

On Sunday, March 24, 2019, Davey "Dave" Wayne Copple, of Minneapolis, MN, formerly of Asheboro, loving father of two children, passed away at the age of 69 at Augustana Care in Minneapolis. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 5160 New Hope Church Road, Asheboro, NC, with Elder David Brooks and Elder Branan Hooven officiating. Davey was born in Asheboro, NC on February 17, 1950, to Robert Thompson Copple and Emma Jewel Scott Copple. He graduated from Seagrove High School in 1968 and from Appalachian State University in 1972 with a degree in business. He worked for many years as a Vice President of NCNB in Charlotte. He later moved to Minnesota with his family, where he operated his own cleaning company, A Cleaner Concept. He and his former wife, Jane, raised two children together, Alex and Lauren Copple. Davey had many interests and hobbies. He was very passionate about classic country music and enjoyed listening to it with his family . He loved playing golf and going for walks, passing time reading novels by Tom Clancy and books about politics and history. Davey always made it a priority to attend his children's extracurricular activities. His faith was very important to him and he would attend church regularly. He was known for his sharp wit and always wanted to bring a smile to others. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his infant daughter, Jillian. He is survived by his daughter, Lauren Copple (Leon Clark) of Chaska, MN; his son, Alex Copple (Rachel) of Fridley, MN; his brother, Allen Copple (Kay) of Asheboro; sister, Judy Cole (Barry) of Asheboro; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Charles and Lib Copple, Dot Copple, Betty Copple, and Lacy Scott. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home in Asheboro.
