Darrell L. Spivey

Darrell Loach Spivey, 74, of Seagrove, NC, passed away peacefully Monday, February 12, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. At his request, no public services will be held but a private family service will be held at a later date. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Spivey was born August 3, 1943, the son of the late Annie and Clinton Spivey. He had worked as a iron worker and later in life as a cattle farmer. Darrell, with his outgoing personality, enjoyed his bluegrass music and spending time with family and friends. He had a smile and laugh that could fill up a room. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Spivey was preceded in death by his daughter, Darlene Newsom, his sister, Peggy Morgan, and his brothers, William A. Spivey and David Spivey. Survivors include his sons, James Spivey, of Pittsburgh, PA, William Spivey and wife, Sherri, of Seagrove; brothers, Bobby Spivey and wife, Rita, of Seagrove, Doug Spivey and wife, Priscilla, of Asheboro; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
