Darrell Ray Rich

Mr. Darrell Ray Rich, 67, of Ramseur, NC, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, November 14, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gilbert Presnell and Rev. Richard Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany UMC Cemetery in Franklinville. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Rich was born January 29, 1947. He was the son of the late Odell Junior Rich and Annie Lois Foster Thorp. He was retired from Klaussner Furniture. When he was 22 years old he married his wife, Gladys, who was 15 years old. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with friends and family, especially his grandkids and great grandbaby. Darrell loved joking and picking with everyone and he always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Rich is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gladys Lamb Rich, of the home; daughter, Teasha Rich, of Ramseur; sons, Thomas Rich, of the home, Travis Rich and wife, Crystal, of Asheboro; sisters, Jean King, Linda Robbins, Carol Rich, all of Asheboro, Bonnie Sheffield, of Seagrove, Sue Garner, of Asheboro; brother, Ricky Rich, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jonas Beane, Kasey Bowman, Kayla Bowman, Desirae Rich, Abby Rich; and great granddaughter, Mackenlie Beane. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, November 13, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
