Darrell Parks

Darrell Randolph Parks, 79, of Asheboro, died Thursday, October 15, 2026, at his residence.

No services are planned at this time.

Mr. Parks was born in Randolph County, NC, on November 1, 1946. A true family and generous man with a great sense of humor, Mr. Parks loved and cared for his loved ones deeply. He was a committed Christian who loved the Lord with his whole heart.

Being adventurous was a big part of Mr. Parks' life, too. Whether hang gliding, flying gyro-copters or air planes, or riding his motorcycles, Mr. Parks enjoyed being a thrill-seeker. In addition to being daring, he loved to "wheel and deal" and tinker on things.

Mr. Parks proudly served in the US Army in 1967 thru 1968.

He was preceded in death by his uncle and aunt, Walter and Margaret Hall, who raised him, his sisters, Jan Byrd and Elaine Haigler, his infant son, Gregory Parks, grandson, Blake Parks, and sister-in-law, Kathy Overholser.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Parks; daughter, Melissa Holcomb; son, Randy Parks (Lisa); brother, Larry Hall (Eddie); brothers-in-law, Richard Haigler, Jim Overholser; grandchildren, Jenna Brigman, Jacob Holcomb, Jersey Holcomb, Jess Parks; three great grandchildren; and his cat, "Teddy."
