Dallas "Virgil" Hoover, 83, of Asheboro, went home to be with the Lord and be reunited with his beloved wife, Emily on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2018, at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Jody Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by The Randolph County Honor Guard. Born August 8, 1934 in Randolph County, Mr. Hoover was the son of the late Robert and Queen Hoover. He was owner/operator of Waterway Campground and former owner of Hoover's Grocery. Mr. Hoover was a charter member of Tabernacle Fire Department and he attended Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Wagoner Hoover; son, Michael Dallas Hoover; grandson, Jacob Hoover; sister, Elizabeth Kessler; and brothers, Charles, Roy and Raymond Hoover. Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Hoover (Brad Murray) of Asheboro; sons, Tony Hoover (Teresa), Todd Hoover (Sharon), Chris Hoover (Jennifer), all of Asheboro; brother, Coy Hoover (Julia) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Mike Hoover, Brandon Hoover, Sarah Hoover, Rachel Hoover Coughlin, Regina Hoover, Dillon Hoover, Crystal Scott, Carrisa Gallimore, Karli Hoover, Kara Hoover; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Hoover, McKenna Hoover, Tyler Hoover, Cameron Faulkner, Clara Faulkner and Austin Scott; and his faithful canine companion, Niko.. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Ridge Funeral Home.
