Cynthia Rayburn Kavanaugh, 58, of Denton, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington surrounded by her family. Cynthia was born December 8, 1956 in Denton to Johnnie Lee and Mozelle Floyd Rayburn. She graduated from Southwestern Randolph High School and lived most of her life in the Denton Community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Butch Rayburn and her adopted mother, Grace Flynt. Cynthia is survived by her sons, Chris Brewer (Katy) of Mt. Airy, and Nickolas C. Brewer (Jenna) of Denton; her grandchildren, Christian, Jonathon, Jayden, Grayson, Callie, Chloe, Elly, Angel, Jacob, Caleb and Samantha. She is also survived by her sisters, Sue Garner (Grady) of Asheboro, Amanda Cagle (Roger) of Denton; her brother, Billy Joe Rayburn (Janice) of Trinity; several nieces and nephews and many beloved friends. A funeral service will be held at New Hope United Methodist Church, where she was a member, on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at 3:00 p.m., with Rev. Joe Connelly and Rev. Scott Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 3, 2015, from 6-8 p.m. at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, and other times at the home of Roger and Amanda Cagle.
