Mr. Alfonza Craig "A.C." Cagle, 86, of Asheboro, NC, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Frank Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at West Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Cagle was born August 12, 1928. He was the son of the late Murdo Stamey Cagle and Ola Ingold Cagle. He had worked at Klopman Mills in Ramseur. He was a sawmill worker and enjoyed cutting trees. He also liked to whittle birds and walking canes, and talk about the good old days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mary Ruth Cagle; sisters, Shirley Fishel, Verda Southard; and brothers, Junior Cagle and Grady Cagle. Mr. Cagle is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jarrell Cagle, of the home; daughters, Betty Ann Cagle, Nancy Cagle, Lois Cagle, all of the home; son, William Cagle and wife, Tina, of Asheboro; sister, Gladys Henley, of Asheboro; brothers, John Cagle, of Yakima, WA, James Cagle and wife, Emily, of Asheboro, Carl Cagle and wife, Marie, of New Iberia, LA; and grandchildren, Matthew Cagle and Holly Cagle, of Asheboro. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
