Mrs. Constance French Grantham, 67, of Seagrove, NC, departed her bodily life on earth on Thursday, December 5, 2013. Connie has gone into the hands of her righteous Lord and Savior. She lived and died with earnest expectation of the reward of Heaven. As a Christian, she served the Lord and shared her love of Christ to all that she met. Mrs. Grantham was born January 19, 1946 in Champaign, IL. She was the daughter of the late Warren Stinson French and Evelyn Fern Underwood Burgess. She attended Ramseur High School, where she was active in the performing arts. She married Samuel E. Clark and enjoyed traveling while he was in the military. She was the former owner of "Mountain Joy", an art gallery in Franklin, NC. She was a gifted artist and loved to paint floral designs. She also created handmade jewelry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Abigail Kirk. Mrs. Grantham is survived by her four children; Brent Clark, Monica Deaton and husband, Chris, Roxanne Bowman and husband, Wayne, Samuel E. Clark, Jr.; and five grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Also surviving are sisters, Ramona Dula, of Asheboro, Gail Brunjes, Patty Green and Sasi Sterling, all of Gloucester, VA; brothers, Calvin French, Norman French, Shell French, all of Gloucester, VA, Henry French of San Diego, CA; and 41 nieces and nephews. A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ed Arroyo officiating.
