Colene Cole Counts

Mrs. Exie Colene Cole Counts, 87, of Seagrove, NC, died peacefully Saturday, February 2, 2013, at The Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at Maple Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Howard McNeill and Chaplain Charlie Stutts officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Randolph County, NC, Colene was born July 29, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Claudie Columbus Cole and Pernie Ethel Auman Cole. She was retired from the Shannon Co. Tax Department in Eminence, MO. She was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed cross stitching and bird watching. Colene loved nature, deer and flowers. She was full of life and found humor in everything. Her smile and personality made and impact on everyone that she knew. Colene loved to talk. Just being around her made you feel good. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Curtis Counts; son, Cecil Curtis Counts, Jr.; sisters, Clacie King, Hazel Adams, Rachel Gatlin; brothers, Reggie Cole, and Paul Cole. Mrs. Counts is survived by sisters, Avis Cox, of Ramseur, Emogene Kiser, of Seagrove, Wilma Jones, of TX, Edna Hayes, of Asheboro; 24 nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Ridge Funeral Home.
