Mr. Clyde Luck, Sr., 91, of Asheboro, NC, died Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, after a decline in health over the past few years. He was the former owner and operator of Pritchard's Feed & Seed Store. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mark Key officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Luck was born November 3, 1920. He was the son of the late William Ellis Luck and Annie Myrtle Prichard Luck. Clyde enjoyed serving and conversing with the community while at the feed and seed. His old-fashioned store and country ham was a downtown Asheboro landmark. Mr. Luck was a lifetime and faithful member and usher at Central United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the American Legion. Mr. Luck proudly served in the 91st infantry division of the US Army during the Italian campaign of World War II. In addition to his parents, Mr. Luck was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Luck, and sisters, Lola Sloat and Thelma Barab. Mr. Luck is survived by his wife, Julia Luck, son, Gil Luck, Jr., and wife Ellen, of Liberty, NC; daughter, Myra Luck Holmes and husband Jim, of Ruffin, NC; grandchildren, Anna Kerns, Sara Hassell, Kara Luck; step grandson, Corey McAdams; sister, Rachel Underwood, of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home.
