Clayton Garfield Wood

Clayton Garfield Wood, 77, of Randleman, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 at his home. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Monday, April 13, 2015 at Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born on April 19, 1937 in Randolph County, NC, Mr. Wood was the son of the late Garfield and Lucille Wood. He worked for Old Dominion for 20 years. He was a member of the Ruritan Club in Westfield, NC and loved to play Rook. Mr. Wood served in the US Air Force. Surviving are his wife, Jennie Cain Wood, of the home; daughters, Bertha Smith Allred and Larry Wood, of Randleman, Loretta Atkins and husband, Timothy Lee, of Randleman, Renee Wood Capps and husband, Walter, of Asheboro; son, Joseph Wood and wife, Rhonda, of Randleman; sister, Lois Richardson, of Asheboro; brother, Chester Wood and wife, Sandy, of Randleman; grandchildren, Marie Trogdon, Waylon Allred, David Allred, Franklin Allred, Magnum Allred, Morgan Wood, Luke Wood, Rachel Wood, Simon Wood, Leia Wood, William Atkins, and Rebekah Atkins, Mechkayla Capps, Skylar Capps, Jazmyn Capps; six great-grandchildren; and his beloved canine companion, Little Bit.
