Clayton Johnson

Mr. Clayton Johnson, Jr., 72, of Sunset Drive, died Monday, November 1, 2010, at Randolph Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Chavis officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany UMC Cemetery in Franklinville. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mr. Johnson was born June 12, 1938. He was the son of the late Clayton Henry Johnson and Ruth Louise Allred Johnson. Mr. Johnson was an avid sports fan. He loved and was loved by his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Johnson, Bruce Johnson, Rufus Johnson. Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughter, Vicky Johnson, of Morehead City, NC; son, Ricky Johnson, of Asheboro; sisters, Ava Hooker, Louise Johnson, Dorothy Johnson, all of Asheboro, Nina Wallace, of Charleston, SC; brother, Billy Johnson, of Lexington, NC; two grandsons, James Wall and Jonathan Salmons. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
