Claude R. Morris

Claude Revell Morris, 86, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 19, 2015, at Eleazer Church, Troy. Officiating will be Rev. Jimmy Wansley and Rev. Clay Davis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Montgomery County, NC, Mr. Morris was born April 14, 1929, the son of the late Walser and Sally Morris. He was retired from the N.C. Department of Transportation and had served in the US Army. Mr. Morris enjoyed playing gospel and bluegrass music on his banjo. He also was an avid gardener. Survivors include his wife, Shelby Luther Morris, of the home; son, Steven Morris, of Asheboro; daughter, Lisa Morris Robinson, of Asheboro, and special friend and helper, Kurt Smart. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
