Clara Burgess Luck

Mrs. Clara Mae Burgess Luck, 91, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at Greenhaven Health & Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro, NC. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, April 2, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Patrick Fuller officiating. Burial will follow at Russell's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Asheboro. A native of Randolph County, NC, Mrs. Luck was born May 25, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Rankin Burgess and Lethea Patterson Burgess. She retired from Bossong Hosiery. Mrs. Luck was a fixture at her church, Russell's Grove Baptist Church, until her health prohibited her from attending. She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren, working in her flowers and gardens, and walking religiously for years for exercise. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ashley Burgess, Tom Burgess, and Fred Burgess. Mrs. Luck is survived by her husband, John Lee Luck, of the home; son, Neal Luck and wife, Susan, of Greensboro, grandchildren, Lauren Newton and husband, Jacob, of Randleman, Stephen Luck and Rachael Luck, both of Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
