Charlotte Maxine Johnson Pierce, 83, of Asheboro, died Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2015, in the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Billy Ray Chriscoe officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Mrs. Pierce was born in Guilford County, NC on March 13, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Lonnie Johnson and Rose Anna Edwards Johnson. She had worked at Klopman Mills and Pinehurst Textiles. Mrs. Pierce attended Big Oak Church of God. She loved dancing, collecting lighthouses and her pets, Ralphie, Bubba and Baby. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Allen "Bud" Pierce and her daughter, Barbara Allen Pierce. Surviving are her son, Tommy Pierce and wife, Janie, of Level Cross; daughters, Jeanette Hughes and husband, Johnny, Judy Minto and husband, John, Rhonda Saunders, all of Asheboro; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2015 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Judy and John Minto. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Randolph County, P.O. Box 4383, Asheboro, NC 27204; or to Hospice of Randolph Co., P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
