Charlie Junior Strickland

Charlie Junior Strickland, 76, of Asheboro, NC, died Friday, September 9, 2016 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM, Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro. Officiating will be Rev. Alvin Wooters. Burial will follow at Hoover's Grove Wesleyan Church Cemetery, Denton. A native of Randolph Co., NC, Mr. Strickland was born April 20, 1940, the son of the late Charlie and Rachel Robbins Strickland. He was retired from Sanford Grading Company. He liked to watch Westerns on TV and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Strickland was preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn Campbell, Betty Walls, and brothers, Leon Strickland and Lacy Strickland. Survivors include his wife, Mary Hill Strickland, of the home; sons, Michael Strickland, Roger Strickland, Melvin Strickland, all of Asheboro; sister, Carolyn Nelson and husband, Ricky, of Asheboro; grandchildren, Ty Strickland, Eli Strickland, Luke Strickland, Savannah Strickland; and great-grandchild, Randy. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, and other times at the home.
