Mr. Charlie "Uncle Ned"� James, 85, of Asheboro, NC, died Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, January 10, 2011, at Amity Hills Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Wall officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Alexander County, NC, Mr. James was born June 20, 1925. He was the son of the late Addie Mitchell James and the late Bynum Peyton James. He was retired from Ryder Systems, Inc. and attended Amity Hills Baptist Church. Mr. James served in the US Navy during World War II. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching sports, and going to church. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald James; sisters, Mozelle Daniels, Ruby James Adams, Pauline James Mecimore; twin brother, Fred James; and brother, Lee James. Mr. James is survived by his son, Charles James, of Florida; sisters, Nell Davis, Ethel Williams, both of Asheboro, Shirley Yow, of Seagrove, three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm Sunday, January 9, 2011, at Ridge Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Amity Hills Baptist Church Mission Fund, P.O.
