Charles R. Tucker

Charles Raeford Tucker, 74, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2016, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Russell Brownsworth and Rev. Clay Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Tucker was born February 23, 1942, the son of the late Elsie and Magalene (Spencer) Tucker. Mr. Tucker retired from Chandler Concrete (formerly, Certified Concrete) after over 50 years of service. He attended Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and greeting passing neighbors while sitting on the front porch. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Tucker; brother, Ralph Tucker; and sister, Carolyn Brown. Mr. Tucker is survived by his son, Chuck Tucker and wife, Sheila, of Weaverville; sisters, Rita Spencer of Asheboro, Phyllis Spencer of Ramseur, Imogene Mills of Asheboro; grandchildren, Sam Tucker and Shailyn Tucker; uncles, Bill Spencer and wife, Sue, Sam Spencer and wife, Carol; and aunt, Shurby Jean Cagle and husband, Max. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
