Trinity

Cathy Sharon Brower Schober-Briles, 73, of Trinity, passed away Friday, October 3, 2025, at her home.

A private graveside service will be held at New Hope Memorial Gardens.

Cathy was born on September 9, 1952, in Annapolis, Maryland. Blessed with an entrepreneurial spirit, Cathy went on to own and operate several businesses throughout her lifetime. Cathy was a compassionate, fearless, outspoken and strong willed person. She would extend a helping hand to anyone and contributed to counseling for veterans. Cathy was an avid fan of football and a diehard Carolina Panthers fan. She loved traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach. She also had a soft spot for animals, taking care of them all but especially birds, squirrels, and dogs. Cathy loved her family and her Lord and Savior.

She was a “daddy’s girl” and a “Navy brat” who lived in many places including Cuba where she spoke Spanish at the age of five. She finished second in her graduating class at Trinity High School. She was over a sales staff at Litton Medical Equipment that covered the southwest United States, including, MD Anderson, Baylor, and many more. After becoming a widow with child at 26, she started a couple of other businesses locally, including Sunsations Tanning Salon and The Muscle Factory. Although driven, she was quick to concern herself with anyone hurting. She relished cooking a great meal before watching as many NFL games as possible. She cherished all animals from the largest hogs to baby birds. She really enjoyed just laughing at the absurdities of life and enjoying people. “Being on the beach makes me feel closer to God” she said many times.

Cathy was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Franklin Brower; and daughter, Jennifer Leigh Schober.

She is survived by her husband, Don Briles of the home; mother, Dorothy Floyd Brower; brothers, Baxter Brower and wife Deborah, Foster Brower and wife Debbie; son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Chris and Emily Hancock, grandchildren, Jordan Pruitt and fiancé Chris Tyson, Gabriel Hancock; and great grandchild, Jacob Tyson.
