Carson Alexander “Alex” Robinson, age 37, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2022 in Raleigh, NC.
He was preceded in death by his Grandfather, Herbert Robinson; and Grandmother, Blanche Robinson.
Alex was born in Fayetteville, NC on May 1, 1985 and spent his childhood at the Outer Banks in Manteo, NC until he moved to Asheboro, NC in 1997. Alex was a gifted student who graduated at the top of his class. In 2007, Alex graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology. After college, Alex worked for the Randolph County Jail as a Corrections Officer until 2008 when he began working for CenturyLink in Wake Forest, NC as a Statistical Analyst. In 2018, he began working for North Carolina State Employees’ Credit Union in Raleigh, NC as a Vendor Management Analyst in Risk Management.
Alex was a devoted husband and was looking forward to the next chapter in life as a father to his baby girl due March, 2023. Alex loved making memories and adventuring with his wife and family at the Outer Banks and Blue Ridge Mountains. He was a lifelong devoted fan of the North Carolina Tar Heels. He loved fishing, camping, and kayaking at the beach. He also enjoyed exploring local trails and greenways with Ashley. With a gentle nature Alex was a lover of creatures great and small. Since 2016, Alex has been a integral member of a community of Pokémon Go trainers and his absence is greatly felt.
Alex accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and put his trust in Him. Alex was kind, soft spoken, and generous with his time and talents. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with the Creator.
Alex is survived by his beloved wife, Ashley and unborn daughter; parents Carson and Mary Ellen Robinson of Asheboro, NC; sisters Jessica Routh (Gregory II) of Asheboro, NC and Jennifer Blanton (Brandon) of Charleston, SC; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roman and Joanna Okrepky of Garner; brother-in-law, Roman Okrepky of Los Angeles, CA; sister-in-law, Lydia Stepp (Jeramiah) of Angier, NC; aunts and uncles, Bill and Brenda Brown of Manteo, Joe (III) and Cheryle Prater of Fuquay-Varina, James Lawson of Decatur, IL; niece Paisley Routh; nephews Tanner and Kye Carson Routh; and several cousins.
A service and celebration of life will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Asheboro, NC on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11am. Viewing will be held just prior to the start of service. Following the service, interment will be held at New Hope Memorial Gardens, 3448 New Hope Church Rd, Asheboro, NC 27205.
