Carlton Thompson

Walter Carlton Thompson, 73, of Asheboro, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Randolph Health in Asheboro.

A private memorial service will be held.

Born on June 13, 1953, in Montgomery County, NC, Carlton was the son of the late Walter Ray Thompson and Vera Edith Yates Thompson Hackett. He graduated from Southwestern Randolph High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Seagrove. He was a carpenter and enjoyed woodworking and working on cars.

In addition to his parents, Carlton was preceded in death by his sister, Iris Safriet, and brothers, Calvin Thompson and Dwight Thompson.

Carlton is survived by several nieces and nephews.
