Carl Vernon Perdue, 84, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2019, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Bobby Lorton officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Community Church Cemetery. Carl was born on September 13, 1935, in Randolph County to the now late Ernest Lee Perdue and Lydia Loflin Perdue McDowell. He was retired from the City of Asheboro, and loved running his bushhog along with his dog. He also enjoyed fishing, collecting arrow heads, auto racing, and loved his family dearly. In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his son, Carlos Lee Perdue. Surviving are his wife, Mary Cooper Perdue of the home; daughters, Debbie Hughes and husband H.A. of Asheboro, Stacie Perdue York and husband Scottie of Asheboro, Hope Perdue of Asheboro; granddaughters, Dawn Johnson and husband Nathan, Haleigh York, Tiffany York, Alexis Cross; great granddaughters, Emily Johnson, and Natalee Johnson. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019, and other times at the home.
