Carl Auldin Cheshire, 85, of Asheboro, passed away peacefully Monday, November 30, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2015, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Fonner officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens. A native of Bladen County, Mr. Cheshire was born August 29, 1930 to the late Edward and Sarah Cheshire. He was owner and operator of Amanday Express in Asheboro. He attended Russell's Grove Baptist Church. Prior to Mr. Cheshire's declining health he enjoyed traveling cross country with his wife in their motor home. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cheshire was preceded in death by his brothers, Carey, Johnny, Homer, Henry and Woodrow Cheshire; sisters, Grace Butler, Ollie Knapp, Inez Russ and Lois Greene. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Bridgers Cheshire of the home; daughter, Wilma Cheshire Britt of Asheboro; grandchildren, Amy Long of Ramseur, Amanda Williamson and husband, R.J. of Seagrove; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Tanner, Travis, Landon and Lauren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, P.O.
