Calvin "Bud" Yates

Mr. Calvin "Bud" Austin Yates, 69, of Trinity, NC, died Thursday, October 23, 2014, at the Randolph Hospice House. A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, October 27, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Dave Jarrett and Mike Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Union Community Church Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. A native of Guilford County, NC, Mr. Yates was born March 10, 1945. He was the son of the late Clyde McIver Yates and Bessie Evelyn Voncannon Yates. He was a painting contractor for 35 years and was employed by Chief Express. Mr. Yates served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. He enjoyed cooking for his family. Mr. Yates is survived by his wife, Peggy Davis Yates, of the home; daughters, Rhonda Morton, of Greensboro, Jennifer Myrick, of Ramseur; sons, Mark Yates, Brad Yates, both of Asheboro, Tod Yates, of Ontario, Canada; sisters, Pat Johnson, Lori Scott, Phyllis Parnell, Claudine Drawdy; brothers, Harold Yates, Jesse Yates, Bobby Yates; grandchildren, Bret Yates, Katie Yates, Blake Myrick, Makenzie Myrick, Tigh Yates, Chantelle Laporte, Lucian Kernodle; and one great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
