Bud Greene

Carl Bud Greene, 80, of Asheboro, went home to be with the Lord Monday, July 17, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Center Cross Baptist Church with Rev. Mitchell Hulin and Rev. Grant Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park will military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Born September 27, 1936 in Randolph County, Mr. Greene was the son of the late Lonnie and Blanch King Greene. Bud enjoyed helping others in need. He and Betty supported United Christian Outreach of Southern Randolph County. Bud cooked for the participants in the Red Sleigh Bike Ride in July and looked forward to it every year. He was a member of Center Cross Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by three sisters, Faye Dunn, Cora Mae Dunn and Amanda Pickett; two brothers, Frank and Mack Greene. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Hill Greene of the home; children, Bruce Greene and wife, Leanna of Asheboro and Judy Hulin and husband, Don of Lexington; grandchildren, Michelle Hughes and husband, Chris of Thomasville, Michael Greene of Asheboro, Melissa Lyda and husband, Jamie of Asheboro and Rev. Mitchell Hulin and wife, Michelle of Lexington; and great-grandchildren, Gage Greene, Malachi Hulin, Kailey Lyda, Sara Hughes, Piper Greene and Abel Greene. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Jim and Faye Phillips, 3531 Stutts Rd., Asheboro.
