Brenda C. Whitt

Brenda Carolyn Keeling Whitt, 73, of Denton, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Pleasant Cross Christian Church Cemetery, Asheboro with Pastor Jon Reese and Pastor Jeff Maness officiating. Born in Randolph County, NC on December 20, 1943, the daughter of the late James and Eva Keeling. She was the retired vice president of W-W Knitting Company. She was a member of Back Creek Friends Meeting. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitt was preceded in death by her daughters, Sandra "Sandy" Powers and Sherry Ann Whitt, son, David Allen Whitt, and brother, Perry Keeling. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Hoyt Ray Whitt, of the home; daughter, Robin Gilley and husband, Greg of Pfafftown; sons, Forrest Whitt and wife, Karen of Archdale, Tony Whitt and wife, Brenda of Climax; brother, Jimmy Keeling and wife, Cindy of Asheboro; aunts, Lou Annie Marley, Lizzie Stewart; grandchildren, Sheena Whitt, Brittany W. Mayo and husband, Brad, Atom Whitt, Michael Whitt, Stephanie Whitt and Erin Powers; great grandchildren, Cameron, Owen, Easton, Jayla and Oakley. The family will receive friends at Ridge Funeral Home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 p.m, Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home.
